What You Will Do The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible to perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resources team by coordinating, implementing, and administering specific activities related to all aspects of The Center's HR administrative functions.
This position reports to the VP Human Resources and generally relies on experience and with minimal direct supervision to plan and accomplish business goals, objectives, and initiatives within appropriate budget and based on directives.
This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:
employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, employee relations, recruitment and employment law compliance.
As the HR Assistant, you will:
HR Administration Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records in the HRIS system Paylocity.
Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Provide clerical support to the HR department.
Ensure adherence to all federal, state and local regulations in training and development processes.
Prepare legally required and special reports relevant to the human resources development functions.
Recommend measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accident and health hazards in compliance with OSHA standards.
Standing member on all the HRA Council committees including DEI&B, Wellness, Recognition & Engagement Workgroup, and Orientation, and provide project management support as needed.
Participate in staff, program and team meetings as an HR representative to provide clarity and HR communication.
Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Recruitment Support the Sr.
HR Generalist with recruitment efforts for all Community Health Division for exempt and nonexempt personnel and interns; under the guidance of the Sr.
Generalist, may assist hiring managers to update job descriptions, creating job requisitions, posting open positions, phone screening candidates, completing background checks, employment references, onsite/virtual interviews and evaluation of candidates as needed.
Assist with preparation and analysis of human resources metrics for a variety of measurements.
Maintain active and inactive employment records (hardcopy and softcopy) via filing system and in compliance with statute of limitations; process all changes in personnel status to reflect employment files.
Support the Sr.
HR Generalist with conducting the new coworker onboarding and orientation processes, preparing personnel files and monitoring new coworkers throughout their onboarding process.
Coordinate with the First Impressions, IS, HR and Finance departments to maintain, update and create the new coworker orientation welcome package prior to new coworker's first day of employment.
Collaborate with Staff Development to schedule, post and communicate HR training general information online for electronic registration purposes and resolves routine schedule conflicts.

Ability to demonstrate professional judgment to take initiative and act proactively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and the flexibility to adapt to changes that occur with an evolving position.
Working knowledge of general office equipment (e.
g.
, Computer, Printer, Copier, Scanner, Facsimile, Calculator, Postage Meter, etc.
) Internet Research and web-based applications.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), databases, and using tools to communicate remotely.
