They are a strong, self-confident leader willing to take risks and rapidly learn from mistakes.

The Construction Manager has the challenge of overseeing $10-15MM of solar PV & BESS construction projects (approx.
65% commercial / 35% residential) and driving them to completion on schedule, within budget, and to our high standards.

ACTIVITY - Primary Duties Time Allocation:
50% Attend daily morning dock load-up, advising 3-7 crews on equipment needed for the day Field calls from crew leaders throughout the day Visit active jobsites and perform regular jobsite safety and performance audits Review project proposals or plans to determine timeframe, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, hazard identification and mitigation, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project Perform pre- and post-sale site surveys and coordinate and/or attend preconstruction meetings Plan construction activities and resource requirements in close coordination and collaboration with the Operations Manager, Operations team, and crew leaders Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems Direct on-site production staff to ensure safe and efficient utilization of materials and labor Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with design specifications, building codes, safety regulations, or other ordinances, resolving any deficiencies Coordinate and supervise subcontractor work (structural, groundwork, electrical, crane, scaffolding, carpentry, unskilled labor) Review completed construction projects with crew leaders, highlighting successes and identifying training opportunities Attend and contribute to weekly Installation Strategy and Production meetings Attend electrical and building inspections as needed Escalate field personnel disciplinary issues to Operations Manager for correction ACTIVITY - Leadership Time Allocation:
15% The Construction Manager manages teams of construction professionals and ensures they complete their work on time and to the highest standards.
While not directly responsible for the installers from a personnel/disciplinary standpoint, they provide critical guidance and support for the professional development of those in the field by modeling safe jobsite conduct and reinforcing the use of industry best practices.

10% Communication is an essential skill for the Construction Manager.
They often communicate with other construction professionals, such as architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure that the projects are completed on time, within budget, and to design specifications.
They also communicate with customers to ensure that projects meet customer needs.
Effectively convey ideas and expectations to field personnel Call crew leaders at minimum daily to receive progress updates Ensure any project changes to scope or schedule are relayed to customer and Operations team Regularly and clearly communicate relevant jobsite activities and milestones to Operations team Listen and negotiate empathetically ACTIVITY - Problem-Solving Time Allocation:
15% Expert problem-solving skills allow the Construction Manager to identify risks and issues, develop solutions, and effectively implement them.
When faced with difficult situations or limited information, the Construction Manager uses available resources to decide on solutions and executes them expeditiously and with confidence.
Plan material loading to roof with a mind to space, parking, scope, timing, budget, permits, and customer requests Create safety plan for work including work in hazardous and classified locations or near heavy equipment Solve a variety of simple to complex time-sensitive construction issues (e.

, module layout changes, scheduling conflicts, material shortages) ACTIVITY - Organization Time Allocation:
10% The Construction Manager needs organizational skills to manage their time and resources effectively.
They oversee multiple projects at once, so it's important for them to prioritize their tasks and manage their time wisely.
Organizational skills can also help the Construction Manager delegate tasks to their team members and track the progress of each project.
Their organizational skills should extend to project planning as well, ensuring that construction activities are planned and organized for the highest efficiency with zero tolerance for avoidable injuries.

) Participate in daily schedule creation by advising on upcoming job activity personnel needs Required Skills Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
Significant relevant construction management experience will be considered in lieu of a degree 10
years' experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a management role Proven track record of successful management of multiple simultaneous construction projects Proven track record of successful project completion on time and within budget Strong understanding of construction contracts and negotiation strategies Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards Ability to stand in for any trade foreman (carpentry, electrical, concrete, roofing, etc.
